Denise Rocca has made it a point to achieve linguistic and cross-cultural fluency and before joining the University of Arts London has studied and worked in Germany, France and Italy and has experience in designing managing and promoting art-based projects. BiographyDenise Rocca holds a BA and MA in European Languages and Cultures from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE) - http://www.unimore.it/ -, Italy and an MA in Arts Management from TSM Trentino School of Management - http://www.tsm.tn.it/ -, Italy. Her research interests comprise organizational development and sustainability for the arts, arts education, translation and publishing management. Before joining the Engine Room two years ago Denise collaborated with a Paris-based company as Event Planner coordinating and developing a range of international events that involved several art organizations in Europe. She focused on resource management and communication. In her work with the Engine Room Denise has brought together her expertise in management and sustainability for the arts with the rigor of research to develop industry-based projects with Polka Theatre - http://www.polkatheatre.com/ - and Second Century Cinema - http://www.roxybarandscreen.com/. The projects looked at evaluation methodologies as a means to promote professional and economical growth within the organizations involved. In her role of project researcher on Creativity Matters and Creativity Connects projects Denise liaised with schools, creative professionals and the Looked After Children (LAC) team in Ealing to investigate and evaluate the impact of an art-based approach to Early Years learning and the development of LAC young people’s cultural engagement.
