Corey China has worked in art education for the past 9 years, and has experience of working with children, young people, and adults to promote higher and further education in art and develop the creative potential of learners at all levels. BiographyCorey China has worked in art education for the past 9 years, and has experience of working with children, young people, and adults to promote higher and further education in art and develop the creative potential of learners at all levels. She has a BA Hons in English Literature from the University of Colorado, Boulder, USA, and an MA in National and International Literatures in English from the Institute of English Studies, University of London. Corey's expertise and interests brings together the thematic issues of learning, research, evaluation, arts education and creativity. In her past work for the Engine Room, Corey co-ordinated workshops and activities for the Diversity & Progression area, working with local schools and community-based organisations, and managed the Short Courses Programme and the programme of Accredited Short Courses. As Senior Researcher for the Engine Room, Corey focused on the management, research and evaluation of the Creativity Matters and Creativity Connects projects, both developed in collaboration with the London Borough of Ealing. Creativity Matters investigated the impact of placing artists and creative professionals within the early years’ education system to work directly with teachers and children. Creativity Connects worked with the Looked After Children team in Ealing to provide looked after young people with creative and cultural opportunities across a range of arts-based disciplines.
