An internship is a work-related learning experience for individuals who wish to join the Engine Room to develop hands on work experience of working in the arts, culture and social enterprise projects. Generally interns are not paid, but countries within Europe, Asia and the Americas all offer bursaries and study credit for students wishing to undertake an internship.

Occasionally funded internships are available and these will appear under our job vacancies section.

Internships can operate from 3-12 months in duration. Post graduate interns are preferred, although there are some opportunities for undergraduate interns of exceptional talent. Interns are supervised by high level Engine Room staff and will become an active member of the Engine Room team.

For inquiries about internships, please contact Professor Anne Bamford.
